depa Discusses How AI and Semiconductors Can Support Thai Industry
depa held the fifth FORESIGHT THAILAND online session on 5 May 2026, with experts from Microsoft Thailand and Infineon Thailand discussing enterprise AI adoption, cloud-edge AI coordination and the role of semiconductors in smart infrastructure and future industries.
The session described enterprise adoption as moving from people working with AI assistants toward models in which humans set direction and AI agents handle selected tasks. This was a technology and organization outlook, not a mandate for Thai businesses to adopt a particular platform, and it did not announce an investment approval or procurement outcome.
Infineon's representative presented cloud AI for centralized data processing and edge AI for rapid device-side analysis in IoT, automation, electric vehicles, smart buildings and smart factories. Thai businesses still need to choose an architecture according to data sensitivity, network-outage tolerance, hardware lifecycle and energy use.
