Nexteer Automotive opened its first Thailand manufacturing site in Rayong on 30 March 2026. Nexteer issued a same-day announcement, Thailand BOI's Regional Investment and Economic Center 4 recorded its participation, and Gasgoo cross-checked the event the next day.
The company confirms a 5,000-square-metre plant that entered production after a launch phase, initially manufacturing Column-Assist Electric Power Steering systems. CEPS integrates the motor, controller and sensors in the steering column.
The verified scope is opening, floor area, operating stage and initial product. Public sources disclose no investment value, designed annual capacity, actual output, local-content ratio, customer orders or model-level supply relationship, so this article does not estimate them.
Nexteer says the site will address Southeast Asian motion-control demand and support automakers expanding in the region. That market-positioning statement is not evidence of a named customer award or purchase contract.
For the EEC automotive supply chain, CEPS production can involve motors, controllers, sensors, mechanical parts, harnesses, assembly, calibration and end-of-line testing. Suppliers still need automotive quality systems, PPAP, traceability, capacity and change control.
ERP and MES should connect customer programme, vehicle configuration, BOM/ECN, software and calibration versions, component serials, torque and test data, nonconformance and rework, maintenance, inventory and delivery, while separating production completion, quality-released stock and customer acceptance.
