WHAUP and Aisin Powertrain Sign PPA for 950 kW Solar Rooftop Phase 3
WHAUP and Aisin Powertrain (Thailand) signed a power purchase agreement for a 950 kW third-phase solar rooftop system. Combined capacity across the three phases will reach 5.3 MW after implementation; the announced milestone is the PPA signing, not operation.
WHA reported on 28 May 2026 that WHA Utilities and Power (WHAUP) and Aisin Powertrain (Thailand) had signed a solar power purchase agreement for Phase 3 of the Aisin Powertrain Solar project. The ceremony took place at WHA Tower, and the confirmed project stage is the agreement signing.
Phase 3 covers the installation of a 950 kW solar rooftop system. WHA said that, when combined with Phases 1 and 2, cumulative installed capacity will reach 5.3 MW. The forward-looking “will reach” wording means the additional phase should not be treated as already operational.
The company expects Phase 3 to avoid more than 14,000 tonnes of carbon-dioxide-equivalent emissions over a 30-year project lifespan. The project is intended to increase renewable-energy use in manufacturing operations and support Aisin Powertrain's net-zero transition; the emissions figure remains a projection.
