Learning objective

Complete one preventive-maintenance order and reconcile return-to-service, safety release, spares and downtime.

Roles

Maintenance, production, warehouse, safety, costing and IT

Prerequisites

  • Complete asset register and criticality.
  • Confirmed safety permits, spares and maintenance accountability.

Completion checks

  • Plan, order, execution, acceptance and closure form a complete evidence chain.
  • Downtime, spare consumption and cost reconcile to the order.

Common errors

  • Maintaining only by calendar while ignoring condition.
  • Closing without test run and safety release.

Thailand project note

For Thailand, confirm Thai/English business and item masters, THB and foreign currencies, Asia/Bangkok time, segregation of duties, electronic records and local document retention. VAT, WHT, customs, BOI, statutory accounting, product compliance and occupational-safety settings require current review by qualified Thai professionals; this tutorial is not legal or tax advice.

Steps

01Create a unique asset ID with location, owner, criticality, specification, commission date and work centre.
02Define tasks, interval and triggers using manufacturer guidance, operating hours, risk and failure history.
03Configure job steps, qualifications, tools, spares, safety permits and expected downtime.
04Schedule due work with production; an emergency deferral must retain risk, approver and revised date.
05Record start/end, personnel, readings, findings, materials, downtime reason and attachments.
06Perform inspection, test run and safety release after maintenance; do not resume production on failure.
07At closure, reconcile spare inventory, downtime, cost and repeat failures; update the plan or corrective action.
