Polykemi signs for Rayong industrial land; local production remains in transition
AMATA reports a land sale agreement for Polykemi Thailand at Amata City Rayong. Polykemi's own page says the Thai operation is initially supplied from Kunshan and local Rayong production remains under evaluation, so the plant should not be described as operating.

What happened: AMATA reported on 17 June 2026 that Polykemi (Thailand) Co., Ltd. signed a land purchase and sale agreement with Amata City Rayong Company Limited, describing it as an important step towards the company's first Thailand plant.
Confirmed facts: Polykemi's official group page says its Thai company was established in Rayong in 2025, operates a local office and will initially supply customised plastic compounds from the group's Kunshan production facility in China.
Not yet confirmed: Polykemi says it is evaluating the future possibility of local production in Rayong. As of 12 August 2026, the reviewed sources do not provide a commissioning date, capacity or mass-production status; this article therefore does not describe the plant as operational.
Industry impact: if the project advances through construction and commissioning, it could shorten part of the material supply chain for Thai automotive, appliance and industrial customers. Actual impact depends on approvals, construction, equipment, certification and customer qualification.
Digital and ERP connection: a transition from imported supply to local production requires coordinated legal entities, plants, warehouses, BOMs or formulations, lots, quality certificates, intercompany pricing, origin and cost versions so that traceability survives a change of source.
Opportunity and risk: EEC customers may gain closer technical and supply support. Key risks are treating land purchase as production, underestimating material qualification cycles, and allowing inventory, quality or costing rules to diverge while imports and local capacity overlap.
