What happened: on 23 July 2026, the BOI released first-half results. From January through June it received 1,299 investment-promotion applications worth THB1.473718tn, a 37% year-on-year increase.
Confirmed facts: digital led with 90 projects worth THB1.11526tn; electrical appliances and electronics accounted for 179 projects and THB120.23bn. FDI applications totalled 877 projects and THB1.368493tn, up 80%.
Regional measure: the BOI recorded about THB495.737bn of application value in the Eastern region, second to the Central region. This Eastern-region total is not the same as an EEC-three-province total and does not identify the location of any individual project.
Keep the stages separate: during the same period the BOI approved 1,300 projects worth about THB1.306386tn. Application value, approved value, construction spending and commissioned capacity are different stages; this article does not describe applications as completed investment.
Industry impact: the BOI forecasts that approved projects will create more than 82,000 Thai jobs, use about THB386bn of domestic materials annually and add more than THB1.24tn of annual export capacity. These are official expectations, not realised outcomes.
Digital and ERP connection: businesses serving digital infrastructure, electronics, automotive and automation projects need entity- and project-level control of capex, contract commitments, supplier qualification, equipment receipts, construction-in-progress capitalisation, workforce and energy capacity, with distinct application, approval, construction and operation statuses.
