Yonyou Scrap-Steel Grading System Wins an OFweek 2026 Technology Award

Yonyou says its multi-model AI system for scrap-steel grading received the OFweek 2026 AI-plus-intelligent-manufacturing key technology breakthrough award. The system combines an industry multimodal model, specialist smaller models and a model scheduler.

The official article says the industry multimodal model performs category reasoning and uncertainty estimation, specialist models strengthen local-feature recognition, and a reinforcement-learning scheduler selects an inference mode based on sample difficulty. Yonyou reports a 40% reduction in inference latency while maintaining 95% overall accuracy.

Yonyou also reports that, by June 2026, more than 500 system sets had been deployed, grading over 660,000 vehicles and 24.8 million tonnes of scrap for more than 100 customers. The article names deployments at steel producers including Ansteel, Jingye Steel and Longteng Special Steel and states that the project holds three granted invention patents.

These technical and deployment figures come from Yonyou's official release and describe disclosed vendor capabilities rather than an independent performance certification. Thai steel, foundry and recycling operators should test local scrap categories, camera conditions, inspection rules and settlement workflows, with human review and dispute handling retained.
