Haier Chonburi joins an overseas smart-factory case list; read the metrics carefully
Haier says its Chonburi air-conditioning park entered MIIT's first overseas smart-factory case compilation. WHA separately confirms the residential-AC base at WHA ESIE 3 began operating in late 2025; performance figures remain company-reported.

What happened: on 3 June 2026, Haier said China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology had released its first overseas smart-factory case compilation on 28 May and included the Chonburi air-conditioning park. A directly verifiable original compilation page was not located, so inclusion is attributed strictly to Haier.
Cross-check: a separate WHA release on 25 May 2026 confirms Haier's residential air-conditioner base on 200 rai at WHA ESIE 3 in Chonburi and says it commenced operations in late 2025, consistent with the location and operating stage in Haier's account.
Company-reported metrics: Haier describes about 324,000 square metres, six million sets of designed annual capacity and 23 digital systems covering orders, production and supply chain. It also reports improvements in delivery, production, R&D, automation and carbon outcomes. These metrics are Haier's claims, not an audit by this article or WHA.
Not yet confirmed: public sources do not provide every system vendor, investment breakdown, current output, baseline calculation or an independent audit. This article makes no BOI, environmental or compliance determination.
Industry impact: the case illustrates how smart manufacturing in a large Thailand plant can move beyond isolated automation toward coordinated order, R&D, production, quality, equipment and energy data. Other factories should not copy the percentages without their own baseline.
Digital and ERP connection: a practical path is to align organisation, item, BOM, routing, order and equipment master data; connect MES, quality, maintenance, warehouse, energy and financial costing; then assess delivery, yield, downtime and energy against auditable baselines.
