What happened: Continental announced on 22 May 2026 that it had officially inaugurated the expansion of its Rayong tire plant. WHA confirmed the project from the estate perspective on 11 June and locates it at WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 4.

Confirmed facts: both sources report more than EUR300 million, approximately THB13 billion, of investment, three million additional passenger-car and light-truck tires of annual capacity, and about 600 new jobs. The project also starts local production of radial motorcycle tires in Thailand.

Scope note: the additional three-million figure applies to passenger-car and light-truck tire capacity and should not be rewritten as the capacity of the motorcycle line. Public sources do not disclose current utilisation, output by product, customer orders or local-procurement share.

Industry impact: the expansion strengthens Rayong's position in tire, rubber, automotive-parts and regional production networks. Supplier opportunity still depends on formal sourcing, qualification, price and delivery requirements; an opening is not evidence of a specific award.

Digital and ERP connection: expansion calls for product-family and market controls over recipe/BOM effectivity, lots, curing and inspection records, equipment capacity, maintenance, tire identification, warehousing and export orders, while separating design capacity, scheduled capacity and actual output.

Opportunity and risk: EEC rubber, tooling, packaging, maintenance, logistics and testing providers can prepare supplier credentials and lot-quality data. The central risk is treating investment, designed increment or employment figures as realised orders or revenue.
