What happened: Hangcha says its Thailand company formally opened a manufacturing base in Chonburi on 26 June 2026, the group's first self-built overseas manufacturing facility. WHA separately identifies the location as WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 3.

Confirmed facts: both sources put the facility at more than 35,000 square metres. Hangcha describes development, production, sales and local support for forklifts, aerial work platforms and other industrial vehicles, with production, R&D and testing facilities.

Numerical scope: WHA reports about USD20m, or THB665m, of investment and annual capacity of 10,000 units covering forklifts, aerial work platforms and lithium-battery assembly. Hangcha says that at full capacity in 2028 the plant expects around 10,000 aerial work platforms and telehandlers annually. The product scopes differ and are not collapsed into one model-level capacity claim.

Not yet confirmed: public information does not disclose current output, product-level allocation, customer orders, supplier awards or local-procurement share. An opening does not mean the 2028 planned level has been reached.

Industry impact: the project brings more production, testing and local service from a Chinese industrial-vehicle manufacturer into the EEC, potentially shortening delivery and service chains for ASEAN customers. Real supplier opportunity still depends on formal procurement, qualification and ramp-up.

Digital and ERP connection: a new plant should control BOM effectivity, serial numbers, battery lots, inspection, warranty, spare parts, dealers and service work orders by plant, product family and project, while keeping pilot, ramp and full-capacity statuses distinct.
